London - English club Arsenal have reportedly agreed to sign highly rated French forward Olivier Giroud on a deal worth 12.8 million pounds from French champions Montpellier. Giroud, who has two years remaining on his Montpellier contract, has agreed a 45,000 pounds-a-week four-year deal, which will almost treble his current wages of around 15,000 pounds-a-week, reports Daily Mail. The 25-year-old, who is currently playing for the national squad at the Euro 2012 is expected to confirm the deal once the tournament ends....

The 47-year-old Spaniard faced the English Football Association charge following the incident at the Amex Stadium. Emery immediately apologized to a supporter after kicking the bottle into the stand and again went to speak to the home fan at full-time. “(Emery) accepted the standard penalty,” the FA said in a statement on Monday. “It concerned his conduct during the game against Brighton on 26 December 2018.” Emery, whose team was thrashed 5-1 at Liverpool on Saturday, avoided any touchline ban and will be free to take the reins against Fulham on New Year’s Day....

The Blaugrana are said to have identified Patino, 19, as a potential target and have been impressed with his performances for Blackpool. Patino has made 16 appearances, bagging two goals and as many assists while on loan at Bloomfield Road. The Watford-born English teenager began his career at St Albans City before a short spell at Luton Town. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was first chased by police after he robbed a 7-Eleven store with a loaded handgun in Rockland, Massachusetts, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said during a press conference. The robbery happened at around 7 a.m., and the suspect fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash. At that point, Rockland police “immediately began a search and a chase, both on foot and in an auto, to try to apprehend the suspect,” Morrissey said....
